Tourists willing to go Shimla, have to reach Delhi first. I’m picking Delhi as the centre for all local & foreign tourists. One can travel Shimla by Train, Bus, Air and by personal vehicle.
Train: You can easily take a direct train from Delhi to Chandigarh, and then hire a bus or car from Chandigarh for the rest of the journey to Shimla. You can also enjoy a Toy Train ride from Kalka to Shimla covering a total distance of 95 kms in 5 to 7 hours time span.
Note: No direct trains are available from Delhi to Shimla.
Bus: You can take a HRTC, state transport or volvo bus from New Delhi to Shimla covering a total distance of 350 km by road. A bus approximately takes 9 hours to reach Shimla bus terminal.
Car or Motorbike: You can comfortably visit Shimla from Delhi by your personal car or bike. One can also hire Car from Delhi depending on your budget.
Air: If you want to save your traveling time and don’t want to indulge in travel hassle, airline is the best option. Time taken by flight from Delhi to Shimla is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
